A program based on patient safety standards developed by The Leapfrog Group, a non-profit organization that identifies safety standards aimed at reducing medical errors, improving the quality of care, and affordability.
How the Hospital Safety Incentive works
- If you choose a network hospital that meets the Leapfrog patient safety standards and is in the Find a Hospital list below, the benefit level is 100% instead of the standard network percentage. Note: Services must be rendered at the address listed in order for the benefit level to be at 100%.
- Benefit applies to inpatient and outpatient services (including emergency room and mental health and substance abuse services) that are billed by the hospital.
- Network hospital must meet the patient safety standard on the day of admission for inpatient services or date when outpatient services are received.
- Based on a patient's primary diagnosis.
- Benefits subject to all terms of the Plan.
Leapfrog Patient Standards
