Kerry E. Barnett

Kerry provides leadership and strategic direction for communications, public policy and public affairs, human resources, marketing, project management and ethics and compliance for Regence and its member Plans in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington. He is the chief compliance officer, the chief legal officer and oversees legal functions of the company.
Kerry joined Regence in 2004 after holding senior executive positions with ODS Health Plans and HealthFirst Medical Group, and serving Oregon as the insurance commissioner and as the governor's legal counsel and senior policy advisor.
He is a member of the Board of Governors of the national Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute. He sits on the Policy and Regulatory Affairs Committee as well as the Advocacy and Communications Committee of America's Health Insurance Plans. He also serves on the Legal Division Co-op Board and executive committee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Kerry's community involvement includes serving on the boards of the Portland Business Alliance, United Way and the Regence Foundation, and as an Oregon Business Council deputy.
Kerry received his bachelor's degree in English from the University of Rochester and received his law degree from Yale Law School.
