Joan: Seizing the bird's eye view

Joan and her family

At the age of 73, I’m taking the chance to do things I've always wanted to do. One of those things is ziplining. I read about a ziplining company in my local newspaper and my family and I decided to try it out on our recent trip to Kauai.

Ziplining isn't for everyone. When asked to join in, my daughter-in-law's parents said, "No way!" However, my son, daughter-in-law and grandson were up for the challenge. When I asked our guide, he said the oldest person to have ziplined with them was a man in his early 80s.

Launching from a five-story-high pad, we flew for almost a mile. Seeing the lush and scenic landscape with a bird's eye view was very fun and exhilarating. I'm so glad that I took this opportunity!
