We’re easing access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services

February 9, 2021

Accessing behavioral health resources is more important than ever to employees. That’s why we’ve added several ways to make it easier for those who have the EAP, administered by Reliant Behavioral Health (RBH), to access these services and resources.

On-hold messaging: When employees call Regence Customer Service, they now have the option to access the EAP via the Emotional Well-being and Substance Use queue. Employees selecting this option will be transferred to Reliant Behavioral Health to learn more about the EAP or request services.

An example of the messaging: “For questions about emotional well-being and substance use, Press 5.” Then, “If you are calling regarding the Employee Assistance Program, press 1.”

Member ID cards: Employees with the benefit will now have the EAP phone number printed on the back of their member ID card.

Referrals to other behavioral health resources: RBH will know if an employee has access to behavioral health through one of our telehealth vendor solutions:

  • MDLIVE® - Available as a buy-up for fully insured large groups of 101+ and self-funded groups of 51+
  • Doctor On Demand™ - Embedded for fully insured groups of 1-100 (2-100 in Idaho), and available as a buy-up for fully insured large groups of 101+ and self-funded groups of 51+

Employees have access to both their in-network providers and these telehealth behavioral health solutions. When they reach their EAP visit limit or need additional services, the RBH staff will be able to explain these options.

Member portal enhancements: The member portal (authenticated member site) on regence.com and the Regence app now include a customized display of information about behavioral health resources uniquely available to each employee. Below is an example of how the EAP member experience appears in the portal.
