Help employees access behavioral health care quickly

March 28, 2023

Nearly one in five U.S. adults (an estimated 52.9 million) live with a mental illness, according to the National Institute of Mental Health, and the majority don’t receive care. Often the barrier to getting treatment is lack of awareness of covered care options.

That’s why helping employers, employees and covered dependents understand their behavioral health care options is so critical.

Most Regence plans offer members access to in-network virtual behavioral health providers and well-being tools. Employees and their covered dependents can visit providers’ websites or call them directly to schedule appointments. There’s no need to check with Regence or obtain prior authorization. Appointments can usually be scheduled with virtual providers more quickly than with in-person providers, and employees can get treatment from home or during breaks from work or school. Plus, they can use the well-being tools anytime.

Know your groups’ in-network virtual behavioral health providers

The following virtual providers and tools are embedded in all group plans except those on narrow networks or unless otherwise noted. As May is national Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ll be providing new tool kits to help employers share this information with employees in the next edition of Employer News. Please share the information and encourage them to make it available to their employees.
