Illinois Consumer Coverage Disclosure Act: What you need to know to help your groups

April 26, 2022

The Illinois Consumer Coverage Disclosure Act (CCDA) outlines new requirements for any employer that provides group health insurance to employees residing in Illinois. Now, they're required to provide those employees with a list of essential health insurance benefits (EHB) regulated by the State of Illinois, as well as a comparison with benefits covered under the employer's insurance plan. The CCDA also applies to employers whose group health insurance plan is not regulated by the State of Illinois. Employers must provide this information to all employees residing in Illinois upon hire, annually and upon request.

Additional information about the CCDA can be found here:

Employers can provide the required information using the EHB form found at the link above. Because the CCDA applies to employers, not insurance carriers, Regence won't complete the forms on groups' behalf. Please consider lending your consultative expertise in supporting groups on this matter.
