To improve website security and protect members against potentially fraudulent activity, we have begun integrating LexisNexis secure sign-in technology. This integration addresses emerging security requirements and establishes a foundation for more robust consumer identity management and secure website access. It will have a minor impact on the member experience.
LexisNexis is an industry-leading technology that assesses the potential security risk of each sign-in event and identifies the device or user as low or high risk. Adopting LexisNexis supports our efforts to mitigate fraudulent activity with member accounts and member data.
How it works: During initial sign-in, all members will be required to retrieve a one-time passcode from their email. After retrieving and entering the passcode, the member will be connected to their Member Dashboard. Members will need to retrieve a passcode whenever they log in from a new device (home computer vs. work computer) or a different web browser.
If a member is unable to successfully retrieve the passcode, they will be required to answer personal knowledge-based questions and/or connect with Customer Service to sign in to their account. The majority of our members will need to retrieve only a one-time verification code from their email and will be connected to their Member Dashboard without any further disruption.
This integration has begun rolling out in phases across our four-state service area:
- Oregon and Idaho group (fully insured and ASO) and Individual members began on Oct. 15.
- Medicare members in all states began yesterday, Oct. 29.
Washington and Utah group (fully insured and ASO) and Individual members begin on Nov. 12.
