Partnership with Signify Health elevates value-based care; adds no-cost in-home health evaluations to Medicare Advantage

May 25, 2021

As part of our efforts to improve care quality and lower costs for our members, we’re expanding our partnership with Signify Health—a leading provider of value-based payment programs. Following the launch in Washington last year, we’re bringing our innovative Episodes of Care (EOC) program to Medicare Advantage and fully insured employer group members in each of our four states. The program, utilizing an all-inclusive health and payment model for treating specific conditions and care needs, addresses more than 50% of the total medical spend through procedures, chronic conditions and mental/behavioral health.

This partnership leverages Signify Health’s analytics and technology to improve members’ health and lower the total cost of care. By aligning incentives and navigating members to a network of high-quality providers, this model has been shown to:

  • Lower overall costs
  • Manage risk and gain greater predictability
  • Close clinical and social gaps
  • Drive mutual accountability for improving outcomes and delivering optimal value-based care

In-home care for all Medicare Advantage members

As a leader in the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) Advanced program, Signify Health has extensive experience with in-home health evaluations. Our expanded partnership will enhance the scope of our in-home health assessments—conducted in Medicare Advantage members’ homes in person or virtually by certified medical providers—leveraging social determinants analytics to help close quality gaps, improve care and lower costs for members.

Medicare members can call Signify Health at 1 (877) 764-0833 (TTY: 711) Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific time for more information or to schedule an appointment. They can also call Customer Service at the number on the back of their member ID card for help.

Select Medicare Advantage plans include quarterly allowance for members to buy approved over-the-counter items in person or virtually

Included in select Regence Medicare Advantage plans is a quarterly allowance for approved over-the-counter (OTC) health and wellness products. We send eligible members an OTC Network card, which acts like a debit account for buying approved OTC products at participating retailers.

It’s easy for members to use their OTC cards to support better health and wellness. Whether in person, online or over the phone, they simply swipe or enter the card information to pay for OTC items with the available balance. They can also shop an extensive catalog that includes all Medicare-approved items.

Participating retailers include:

  • Walmart
  • CVS Pharmacy
  • Walgreens
  • Family Dollar
  • Dollar General
  • Other corporate and independent pharmacy locations

Members can also use an OTC card to purchase items through NationsOTC.com. They can sign on using a 19-digit OTC card number, then select products and place an order by completing the checkout process. Members can call 1-833-SHOP-OTC (1-833-746-7682; TTY: 711) Monday through Friday between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific time to order over the phone or request a catalog.

Feel free to contact your clients to see if they’ve redeemed their quarterly OTC benefit. The OTC benefit is available on select Medicare Advantage plans.

Nations OTC and Signify Health are separate and independent companies that provide services for Regence members.
