Summer is in full swing! As your employees take their vacations and enjoy the season’s many activities, it’s important that they understand their benefits and where to get care while on the go.
Using the right option can help your employees get the care they need more quickly. And it can save them money. Pass along these tips to keep summer fun and healthy for your workforce.
Benefits review Before heading out, employees should sign in at regence.com (create an account) or download the Regence app to review their benefits. An account gives them easy access to their health plan while away from home. Employees can find in-network doctors, access their virtual member ID card and have all their health insurance info at their fingertips.
In-network saves $ To find in-network doctors, hospitals or clinics when away from home, employees should use Find a Doctor when signed in at regence.com or the Regence app. They can also call 1-800-810-BLUE, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or use the National Doctor and Hospital Finder to find in-network doctors.
Right care, right place When summer fun leads to an illness or injury, employees have options. Employees can familiarize themselves with their health plan’s on-demand care options. Virtual care (telehealth) or urgent care are typically less costly than the emergency room (ER), and they can save employees valuable time and hassle.
In an emergency Employees and their covered dependents can go to any ER for emergencies—even if the hospital is outside their provider network. That emergency care is covered in network, so employees can focus on what matters, not extra costs.
Virtual care This convenient and affordable option is available anywhere employees have a computer or smartphone. If their plan includes MDLIVE or Doctor On Demand, they can visit with a doctor, get a diagnosis and treatment plan and have lab work ordered when needed. If their plan includes Advice24, they can also talk to a registered nurse and get guidance anytime. Employees should sign in at regence.com or the Regence app to see the virtual care options available to them.
Urgent care @ home Taking a staycation? Employees may be able to receive urgent medical care in their home from DispatchHealth, depending on their plan and where they live. To check availability, sign in to regence.com account or the Regence app, choose Find Care and look for DispatchHealth. Or call DispatchHealth at 1-833-652-0539.
Prescriptions on the go Employees away from home can get their prescriptions refilled at a nearby in-network pharmacy, including many national retailers. Pro tip: Using an in-network pharmacy saves money. To get pharmacy options, employees should sign in at regence.com or the Regence app, select Pharmacy, then Find a pharmacy.
