Palliative care benefits
Dealing with serious illness is uncharted and difficult territory for most patients and families. Whether caring for a loved one of any age, struggling with financial or care decisions, or trying to organize services, it's a road you don't have to walk alone.
Regence Personalized Care Support provides extra help
Your benefits now include adult and child case management to assist you and your family when you are dealing with serious illness. Regence has expanded your benefits to focus on improving the quality of life for both patient and family. The palliative care benefit includes:
- Expanded home health medical services, addressing ongoing pain and symptom management
- Greater home health psychological and social services including family counseling, marital counseling and spiritual support visits
- Caregiver support: Our palliative care case managers will work with any caregiver of a Regence member whether or not they are members themselves. Regence members who are caregivers of nonmembers can also receive palliative caregiving support.
- Advance care planning to capture your goals and preferences for care
Put a case manager on your caregiving team
Regence case managers assist members and their families, helping to coordinate care, explain your benefits and resources, act as an advocate for both patient and caregivers, and provide caring support and advice. This benefit comes at no additional cost to you.
Patients in palliative care programs report feeling better and are more satisfied with their care, and their families and caregivers experience less emotional and physical stress.
